Human Ecology Program Description |
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Human Ecology will cover content aligned with the Family and Consumer Sciences body of knowledge. The degree is designed to provide the student with an interdisciplinary life span perspective necessary for professional work with families and consumers. The degree will have four tracks: Child Development, Nutrition and Dietetics (clinical and non-clinical options), Family and Consumer <br>Sciences, and Fashion Merchandising. The degree will be offered online except for the Nutrition and Dietetics track, clinical option, which requires an in-person Dietetic Internship. The proposed graduate degree requires students to complete 30 credits, with nine (9) core credits in Human Ecology and the remaining 21 credits in the track area of their choice. The degree offers a thesis and a non-thesis option. For the thesis option, <br>students must take three core courses (9 credits), a minimum of six track area (18 credits) graduate-level courses, and three thesis credits. For the non-thesis option, students are required to take three core courses (9 credits) and a minimum of six track area (18 credits) graduate-level courses, and three (3) credits of a non-thesis project. |
